COLLECTION NO 10
Collection No.10 is a study of opposites and their reaction to each other when placed within a confined area. What if there is no versus but more ands between two identities on the opposite ends of the spectrum? The balance and tension that co-exist is what forms the base of the fabric techniques used in this collection.
Laser cut applique on mesh, laces patched together to form fabric, fringes forced to stay in one place are just some of the techniques developed this season. Trims and fabrics are being compelled to behave in ways not natural to it, which gives the garment a sense of uncertainty and fragility. At the same time, the silhouettes worked with, consist of strong shoulders and nipped-in waists to give shape to a resonant woman.
Fabrics range from jerseys to jacquards and there is an abundant play between the fluid and the sturdy, the hard and the delicate. Leather is patched with lace, fluid Swiss cotton is burdened with beads and satin is hung with ropes.
Black and white are peppered with metallics, navy blue and yellow; as subtle florals take precedence as the main motif of this season.
